Survivors of Nargis' onslaught await the arrival relief supplies to help ease their suffering.

The latest UN figures out of cyclone-devastated Myanmar estimate that up to 2.5 million have been severely affected, with a death toll as high as 128,000.

World Vision’s national staff responded to the disaster within 24 hours of the cyclone on May 2. Since then World Vision has assisted more than 250,000 people in Yangon and the Irrawaddy Delta.

World Vision will send a team of international experts into the disaster zone to assist with relief efforts and to commence rehabilitation and rebuilding. In the next six months, World Vision plans to reach 450,000 cyclone survivors with the support they need to rebuild their lives.
